2020 HERA Hong Kong ESG Reporting Awards: Submissions are Now Open
Applications for the annual Hong Kong ESG Reporting Awards (HERA) are now being accepted. This is the third year of award that were started in 2018. The awards recognize companies that follow outstanding reporting practices in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reports. This year, HERA also aims to acknowledge corporate efforts in sustainability initiatives pursuing positive impacts for the environment and the society. New categories include Excellence in ESG governance, Excellence in Environmental Positive Impact and Excellence in Social Positive Impact.
Tony Wong, the organizer of HERA, stated: “The value of ESG has been further reinforced by the eruption of Covid-19, and it is more important than ever before to promote ESG practices and transparent reporting. With increasing involvement of boards of directors in ESG governance and strategy oversight,we expect more corporate value will be created by ESG performance in coming years. HERA will continue to play the key role and recognize corporations for meeting the expectations of stakeholders by striving for excellence in not only reporting but also best practices in ESG management approach.” Every year the winners of HERA set higher standards for the judges and are perceived as leaders pushing other companies and investors to follow. Past HERA Winners include AAC Technologies, Chow Tai Fook, The Airport Authority HK, Bank of East Asia, Cathay Pacific Catering, COSCO Shipping and China Overseas Property, to name a few. Entry submission deadline is 31st July 2020. HERA is open to all kinds of
sustainability reporting, including Annual ESG Reports, Integrated Reports and ESG Reports within Annual Reports. Entries will be accepted for the most recent report published by an organization.
