2024 HERA SHENZHEN Concluded Successfully

On December 6, 2024, the 2024 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Sustainable Development Forum and the Award Ceremony of the Hong Kong ESG Reporting Awards (HERA) were held at the Shangri-La Hotel in Futian District, Shenzhen. Hosted by Alaya Consulting (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. and co-hosted by CCX Green Finance International Limited, the event attracted numerous industry experts, enterprise representatives, and media professionals.

Promoting ESG Practices and Building a Sustainable Future

HERA honored over 80 enterprises for their exceptional contributions across various dimensions of ESG. At the CCXGFI×HERA joint awards, a total of 14 categories were awarded to 35 distinguished enterprises. Now in its seventh consecutive year, HERA has evolved from a non-profit sustainable initiative in Hong Kong into a globally recognized and influential ESG award forum.

Insights from Guests: Shaping the Future of ESG

In the welcome speech, Mr. Tony Wong, founder of HERA and Alaya Consulting, emphasized that “ESG is a vital expression of corporate social responsibility and a key driver of social progress and quality productivity in our country.” He noted that HERA will align with new regulations from the three stock exchanges, promote industry best practices, and collaborate with partners to advance sustainable development in the Greater Bay Area.

Yang Junhao, CEO of CCX Green Finance International Limited, highlighted the importance of sustainable development amidst global climate challenges, stating that green finance plays a crucial role. He affirmed the commitment to promoting green and low-carbon initiatives, enhancing transparency in enterprise disclosures, and strengthening cooperation to lay a solid foundation for sustainable development.

  • Mr. Luo Xiang, Chairman of the Management Committee of the United Nations Global Leadership and ESG Development Center (UNGLEP), delivered a video speech outlining the “Six Strategies” for Chinese-funded enterprises to implement ESG practices, fostering a community with a shared future in global development.
  • Tang Weimin, Senior Manager of Climate and Energy at the Worldwide Fund for Nature and Head of SBTi in China, discussed the current status and trends in science-based carbon targets, urging Chinese enterprises to join emission reduction efforts promptly.
  • Chen Haiou, Secretary-General of the Shenzhen Green Finance Association, elaborated on the development of green finance in Shenzhen and progress in environmental information disclosure, stating that Shenzhen will deepen reforms to integrate green finance with the real economy.
  • Lai Gaoyu, Chairman of the Shenzhen Green Exchange, noted that green financial products can enhance the core value of enterprises over the medium to long term, and that the Shenzhen Green Exchange will integrate data from the Greater Bay Area to promote enterprise internationalization.
  • Ma Xianfeng, Vice President of the Beijing Green Finance Association and Chairman of China Chengxin Green Finance International, emphasized the essential steps for listed companies in ESG information disclosure, including goal clarification, strategic integration, key issue identification, and enhancing informatization.
