HERA COLLABORATES WITH ENACTUS HK TO SUPPORT YOUTH SUSTAINABILITY EDUCATION
Hong Kong, 31 May 2023 – Hong Kong ESG Reporting Awards Limited has announced a partnership with Enactus HK, a nonprofit organization that promotes social innovation and entrepreneurship among university students. The collaboration involves providing sustainability training to a group of approximately 8-10 students selected by Enactus, with HERA sponsoring the full course fee for the GRI Professional Certification Program. This program is widely recognized for its excellence in sustainability reporting, and the partnership aims to support the development of future leaders in sustainability.
Tony Wong, the Director of HERA Limited, stated: “We are glad to support a group of university students who are committed to social innovation and entrepreneurship in their pursuit of knowledge in sustainability. GRI Standards are extensively used by multinational corporations worldwide. This collaboration will further equip the students with the necessary skills to pursue future endeavors in ESG and help address the talent shortage issue in the industry.”
By promoting sustainability reporting practices, building capacity and knowledge, and increasing awareness of ESG reporting, HERA aims to contribute to the achievement of these specific targets and advance the overall goals of the Sustainable Development Goals (“SDGs”), including.
SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production – HERA aims to promote responsible consumption and production practices by encouraging companies to report on their sustainability performance and environmental impacts. By recognizing companies that have demonstrated outstanding sustainability reporting practices, HERA can encourage more companies to adopt sustainable production and consumption practices, contributing to the achievement of SDG 12.
SDG 13: Climate Action – HERA aims to promote climate action by encouraging companies to report on their carbon emissions and climate change performance. By recognizing companies that have demonstrated outstanding carbon disclosure practices, HERA can encourage more companies to take action to reduce their carbon footprint and contribute to the global effort to mitigate climate change, contributing to the achievement of SDG 13.
SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals – HERA aims to promote partnerships for the goals by collaborating with various stakeholders, including companies, investors, regulators, policymakers, and other interested parties, to promote sustainability reporting practices and capacity building. By building partnerships and sharing knowledge, HERA can contribute to the achievement of SDG 17.
